Ethel Zimmerman, 90, died June 24, 2024, in Falmouth, MA. She was born April 6th, 1934, in Springfield, MA, the daughter of Benjamin “Bennie” Schneider and Gertrude Ann (Kosofsky) Schneider.
Ethel graduated from Classical High School, continuing to UMass Amherst for a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree from Springfield College in Community Planning and Development. She was an editor for the unabridged Meriam-Webster Dictionary. She married Ronald Zimmerman, whom she was married to for 62 years. Ethel was an avid bridge fan, playing a weekly bridge game amongst her friends. She was also heavily interested in fashion and beauty. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Sue Zimmerman of Plymouth, MA, her grandson, Robby Lender of Plymouth MA, her sister Bernice Jasper and husband Aaron Jasper of Newport, RI, and her nephew, David Jasper of Jersey City, NJ.
A gravesite remembrance will be held 11:30 AM, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at B’nai Jacob Cemetery, 366 Kings Highway, West Springfield, MA 01089. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to an animal shelter of one’s choosing.
