HENRIETTA G. MANDEL. On December 9, 2023, in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, formerly of Lexington, Massachusetts, age 96. Born in New York City in 1927. Daughter of the late Irving Russotto and Claire Wetherbee Stetson Russotto Gersoni. Step-daughter of the late Henry Gersoni. Widow of the late Seymour Mandel. Mother of David (Alice) of Sudbury, Massachusetts; Sandra (the late John Brentlinger) of Florence, Massachusetts; and Joshua (Terry) of Oakland, California. Grandmother of Michael (Shari) Mandel of Melville, NY; Samuel (Charlotte) Mandel of Oakland, California; Caitlin McGlynn-Mandel of Oakland, California and Zara Mahmood and her siblings of Longmeadow, MA. Great Grandmother of Lincoln Mandel. Sister of Ruth Ann (Dick) Lind of Colliersville, New York and the late Carol Thorne. Also survived by nephews and nieces.

Her lifelong passionate love of music led to her meeting her future husband of 46 years, Seymour Mandel, in 1950. They lived in New York City and Princeton, New Jersey before moving to Massachusetts in 1974. Over the years, she sang with many choral groups, including the Desoff Choir in New York and the Lexington Pops. Graduate of Brooklyn College, she trained and worked as a social worker before starting a family. Later taught at the Princeton University League Nursery School and the Harrington School Extended Day Program in Lexington Massachusetts. Long-term resident of Lexington. A lifelong proud Democrat from FDR through Biden.
