Jack Arnold Goldberg, 94, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026. Born on February 24, 1932, in New London, Connecticut, Jack was the beloved son of Joseph and Tess (Rudy) Goldberg and brother to his two sisters, Joanie and Bobby-all of whom predeceased him.
Jack was the devoted husband of more than forty years to his late wife, Shirley (Rosansky) Goldberg. He was also predeceased by his son, Alan, as well as by his loving partner of fifteen years, Sora Torff, and his companion, Barbara Lavallee. Jack leaves behind his cherished friend, Marcia Uras.
He is survived by his daughters, Dianna Goldberg and her husband, Jon Shrair, of Feeding Hills, and Susan Goldberg Percy and her husband, David Percy, of Longmeadow. Jack was blessed with five grandchildren, all of whom he deeply adored: Austin and Annette Percy of Oregon; Brenna and Griffin Goldberg Percy of Longmeadow; Teah Goldberg Garibian of Feeding Hills; and Gabby Goldberg Garibian of Rhode Island.
Jack spent many years working at The Shoe Box in Springfield, a well known landmark founded by his father.
Deeply committed to his faith and community, Jack was active at Temple B'nai Jacob and was a congregant of Temple Beth El. He was also proud to be a member of the Melha Shriners and a Mason. Jack loved playing golf, traveling, and spending time with his close friends, Sid and Bernie. Known for his kindness, loyalty, and supportive nature, Jack was a true friend to all and will be dearly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 31, at Temple Beth El, with burial to follow immediately. The family warmly invites all attendees to join them for a meal of consolation and Shiva at Glenmeadow in Longmeadow, MA, directly afterward.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to New England Hospice and Chestnut Hill Nursing Home and Rehab for their exceptional care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests instead that donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
