Marcia Lee Lieber

Marcia Lee (Merriam) Lieber peacefully passed on Friday, August 15th, surrounded by her family. Marcia was predeceased by her husband, Milton Lieber; her brother, Allan Merriam; and her parents, Sara and Samuel Merriam. She is survived by her three children, Andrea Brinnel (David), Jodi Freedman (Ken), David Lieber (Heather) and ten grandchildren: Paul Brinnel (Sara), Hailey Brinnel (Andrew), Jessica Cullinan (Nate), Emily Freedman, Samantha Hulsey (Dalton), Lillian, Celia, Violette, and Lavender Lieber and Matthew Lieber.
Marcia was an avid game player and especially devoted to the game of Mahjong. She was a proud member of the Jewish community, volunteering for Hadassah and the Organization for Rehabilitation through Training (ORT). She spent many years as an active member of Beth Israel Synagogue, where she committed many years to being one of the organizers of the Mr. and Mrs. club. Along with Milton, she volunteered at Beth Israel’s bingo for many years, and together they were active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Marcia was a great cook and will be remembered for the holiday feasts she prepared for many years, especially her noodle kugel.
She was a dog lover and loved her beagle, Rosie, with all of her heart.
For her last few years, she was sad, as the last surviving member of a close-knit group of friends.
Marcia is at peace.
Marcia's funeral will be Monday August 18th at 1:00 PM at Rodphey Sholom Cemetery in Chicopee. Shiva services will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings at the home of Andea Brinnel at 54 Wild Grove Ln. in Longmeadow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maricia’s memory can be made to Shriners’ Children’s Hospital at 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
