MARION KAPLAN RESNICK
1922-2024
Longmeadow – Marion Kaplan Resnick, 102, of Delray Beach, FL and Longmeadow, was called to heaven on June 23, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born on April 19, 1922 in Hartford, CT to the late Israel and Dina (Wolotsky) Levenson. Her family moved to Springfield in 1939. At the age of 18, she married the love of her life, Hyman Kaplan. They spent 25 wonderful years together until his death in 1967. Several years later, she married her second husband, Paul Resnick of Mount Vernon, NY and moved there to join his family. After his retirement, they moved back here to Longmeadow. Marion was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her and came in contact with her. She loved to cook, bake, and entertain family and friends. She loved to travel and especially loved the ocean where she and her young children would spend the entire summers at Sound View Beach on the Connecticut shore. Marion was blessed to have her two living sisters (Anne & Jenny) as her best friends. They did everything together. After the death of her last living sister, she oved to Florida to join her two children who lived there. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Hyman Kaplan, and her second husband of 27 years, Paul Resnick, her four sisters, Anne Petlock, Jenny Shapiro, Rose Katz, and Rose’s twin Dorothy Levenson. She leaves behind her three children Richard (Rosa) Kaplan of East Longmeadow, Sandra Gardner and Arnold Kaplan of Delray Beach, FL, her stepdaughter Judy Resnick of Orlando, FL, six grandchildren, Aaron and Michael Kaplan, Eric Hausmann, Jordanna Sherman, Erica Espanoza and Freddie Cabollo, as well as nine great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren, along with her many nieces and nephews and her many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday June 28, 2024 at the Ascher-Zimmerman Funeral Home with burial to follow in B’nai Jacob Cemetery.
