In Loving Memory of Marsha Diane (Lovitz) Stewart
Marsha Diane (Lovitz) Stewart, 67, of Ludlow, MA, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Portland, Maine, to Leonard Lovitz (ז״ל) and Roberta (Dreyfus) Lovitz, Marsha was the eldest of four siblings and embraced her role as a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Marsha graduated from Framingham State College and built a distinguished career as Vice President of Treasury at Mass Mutual. Her professional accomplishments were only matched by her warmth, generosity, and deep love for her family and friends.
Marsha is survived by her loving children, Amanda and Theo Neild, and her son Randall. She was a precious Mimi to her cherished grandchildren Kaylyn and Gabriella, finding immense joy and pride in their lives. Marsha’s mother, Roberta Lovitz, and her siblings and their spouses, Susan and Howard Goldman, Peter and Heidi Lovitz, Joanne and Barry Franklin, and Leslie Zonghetti, along with their children, mourn her passing and celebrate the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Marsha was always “Auntie Marsha” to her six nieces and nephews, caring for them as deeply as she did her own children. She is also remembered by her former spouse, Walter Stewart, the father of her children.
Marsha had a zest for life that was evident in everything she did. She loved the sun and the beach, where she found great happiness. Her beloved dogs, Mackenzi and Puppy, brought her comfort and companionship. A lifelong dancer, Marsha shared her passion for dance with her daughter, who continues the tradition with her own children. In recent years, Marsha found great joy in attending water aerobics, treasuring the friendships and camaraderie she found there.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 13, at 1:00 p.m. at Ascher Zimmerman Funeral Home, 44 Sumner Avenue, Springfield, MA, followed by interment at Beth El Cemetery in West Springfield, MA.
Shiva will be observed at the home of Susan and Howard Goldman on Friday and Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marsha’s memory to the American Cancer Society’s AstraZeneca Hope Lodge in Boston, MA. This organization provided invaluable support and free lodging for Marsha and her caregivers during her treatment. Contributions can be made through this link: AstraZeneca Hope Lodge - Boston.
Marsha’s strength, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.
