Phylis Joyce Fein 1932-2023
Longmeadow - It is with great regret that we announce the passing of our mother Phylis Joyce Fein. Joyce, as she liked to be called, was born in Wallingford, CT on July 27, 1932. Her parents were Joseph and Eva Pinsker. A graduate of Boston University, with a master’s degree from American International College, Joyce became a teacher for the Springfield school system working at the Washington Street School. Joyce was known for her legendary baking, matzo ball soup, travelling the world with Bob, her family and also the many friends that they met along the way. Later, her travels prompted her to become a travel agent. Joyce was also known for her dry sense of humor, and, insisting on always doing the right thing. She was predeceased by Robert E. Fein Clerk /Magistrate of the District Court of Springfield, her husband of 51 years and her sister Gladys (Pinsker) Feigenbaum. Joyce is survived by her brother Clive Pinsker (Marge), son, Jonathan Fein (Donna) of Longmeadow, daughter, Attorney Robin Fein-Krevolin (Adam), of Longmeadow, and son, David Fein (Sara), of Reno ,NV. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael Fein (Taylor), of Somerville, MA, Daniel Fein of Longmeadow, Nathan Krevolin of Longmeadow, and Eva Krevolin of Longmeadow. Joyce was dedicated to her children and especially her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Sinai Temple, at 1100 Dickinson Street, Springfield November 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM with a burial service at the Kodimoh Cemetery in West Springfield. Lunch will be served at Sinai Temple immediately following the burial. Shiva services will be held at Jon's house from 7 PM to 9 on Thursday, November 30, 2023.
