Rachel S. Goldstein

Rachel (Swirsky) Goldstein, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 6, at her home in Wake Forest, NC. She was born in Springfield on November 27, 1956, the daughter of Irwin Swirsky and Elsie (Heyman) Swirsky and grew up in Longmeadow. After graduation from Longmeadow High School, she attended Northwestern University and graduated from Boston University in 1978. Rachel worked in several public relations and advertising positions before establishing a highly successful business as an event planner, continuing until her retirement in 2022. Following many years in the Boston area, she was a long-term resident of Charlestown, RI, before moving to North Carolina earlier this year. She was predeceased by her parents. Rachel is survived by her brother, Michael Swirsky, M.D., of Longmeadow and his fiancee, Wendy Leard, of Somers, CT, an aunt, Rosalie Dana of Dedham, numerous cousins, and her dog, Harry, who she loved dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30am on Sunday, November 19th at Longmeadow Cemetery. Ascher-Zimmerman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
