Richard D. Zimmerman
September 18,1954 - September 1, 2025
Richard David Zimmerman, age 70,
passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on September 18, 1954 in West Springfield, MA, the son of Milton Joseph Zimmerman and Emma (Kaplan) Zimmerman.
Richie worked for many years at National Car Rental at Bradley International Airport. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed car shows, demolition derby's and staying current on the latest car makes and models.
Richie had an incredible memory for numbers and specifically dates. He had an uncanny sense for pulling up specific dates on the calendar, even for events that had occurred 40 years prior ........if someone was trying to remember when something had happened, someone else would say "ask Rich, he will know!"
Memo's Coffee shop was his favorite daily outing. He could often be seen late in the day sitting at his usual counter stool. His Memo's family was extremely good to him and he loved it there!
Richie is survived by his brother Michael Zimmerman and his wife Wendy of North Andover, MA, niece Eliza Suscovich and her husband Mark of Duxbury, MA, niece Michaela Zimmerman of Cambridge, MA, Great nephew Lincoln Suscovich and Great niece Charlotte Suscovich; first cousins Phyllis Rosenfield (Jim Lynch), Donna Raymond (Jacques), Wayne Rosenfield( (Sue), Mark Glater and Shari Dress.
