In Loving Memory of Stuart Alan Warshaw
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Stuart Alan Warshaw on June 29, 2025.
Born on July 26, 1929, in New York City to the late Olga and Floyd Warshaw, Stuart grew up alongside his beloved sister Carol. The family eventually settled in Longmeadow in 1941 after a time in Springfield. A proud graduate of Colby College in Maine, Stuart later pursued his passion for art at the Rhode Island School of Design.
In 1955, Stuart married the love of his life, Judith Kane, whom he affectionately called the girl of his dreams. Together they shared 70 devoted years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and deep companionship.
Stuart led a vibrant life enriched by his many passions. A dedicated sportsman, he excelled in golf, tennis, and marathon running. He also served his country with honor as a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
An exceptional comedic artist, Stuart had an incredible talent for drawing and making others smile. His artwork—clever, warm, and often hilariously insightful—brought joy to many. Just six months before his passing, he proudly hosted a one-man art show, a testament to his enduring creativity and spirit.
Known for his boundless energy and love of conversation, Stuart could effortlessly strike up a dialogue with anyone, on any topic. In his later years, he took immense pride in sharing the accomplishments of his cherished grandchildren, Hannah and Anderson.
Stuart and Judy endured heartbreaking loss with the passing of their children, Cathy and Stephen, both within the last five years—a grief no parent should bear.
Stuart is survived by his beloved wife, Judith; his sister, Carol Levine; his sister-in-law, Carol Weiser; his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Warshaw; his grandchildren, Anderson Warshaw and Hannah Warshaw; and several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a legacy of humor, resilience, and unwavering love.
The Warshaw family extends their deepest gratitude to Stuart’s devoted caregivers, Lorna and Rick Reckord, whose tireless compassion and friendship enabled Stuart to live his final years with dignity, comfort, and joy.
In honor of Stuart’s memory, donations may be made to Sinai Temple in Springfield or the Baystate Health Foundation.
